WordPress 5.4.2

WordPress- Use the software that powers over 35% of the web. On June 10, 2020, WordPress 5.4.2 was released to the public.

These are the Requirements that we recommend servers running version 7.3 or greater of PHP and MySQL version 5.6 OR MariaDB version 10.1 or greater.

Five security issues affect WordPress versions 5.4 and earlier; version 5.4.2 fixes them, so you’ll want to upgrade.

1. An XSS issue where authenticated users with low privileges are able to add JavaScript to posts in the block editor
2. An XSS issue where authenticated users with upload permissions are able to add JavaScript to media files
3. An open redirect issue in wp_validate_redirect()
4. An authenticated XSS issue via theme uploads
5. An issue where set-screen-option can be misused by plugins leading to privilege escalation
